Getting started

Adding your first item

Tap +, then Photo Library or Camera to capture the receipt. WarrantyHaven reads the store, date and amount on your device and fills the form in for you. Check the details, give the item a name, and save.

The OCR got something wrong

Automatic reading is a head start, not the final word — crumpled thermal receipts and dim lighting are hard. Every field stays editable: tap the item, then Edit, and correct anything. You can also Replace the receipt photo without re-entering the item.

Tips for a cleaner scan

  • Flatten the receipt and shoot straight down, not at an angle.
  • Bright, even light — avoid your own shadow across the paper.
  • Fill the frame with the receipt; crop out the table underneath.

Reminders

When do reminders arrive?

For warranties: 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before cover ends. For return windows: the same countdown against the return deadline you set. Everything is scheduled locally on your iPhone — no server is involved.

I'm not getting notifications

Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → WarrantyHaven and make sure Allow Notifications is on. If you declined the prompt when you first opened the app, this is where to turn it back on. Items you saved while notifications were off will still be reminded once permission is granted.

Insurance features

What is the "per-item limit"?

Most contents policies cover ordinary belongings up to a limit per item — commonly somewhere between $1,000 and $3,000 — and ask you to list anything worth more than that individually. WarrantyHaven lets you set that number in the Insurance tab and then flags which of your items sit above it. The figure is yours to set: check your own policy schedule, since limits and wording differ between insurers and countries.

What is the claim report?

A PDF you can generate any time: a summary table of your items with dates, prices and whether proof is attached, followed by one page per item containing its photos, receipt and serial number. Share it with your insurer, or attach it to a police report. Generating and exporting it is free forever, with or without Pro.

Does WarrantyHaven talk to my insurer?

No. It has no connection to any insurer and no involvement in your claim. It organises your own records so that you have them when you are asked for them. Whether a claim is accepted, and for how much, is entirely between you and your insurer.

WarrantyHaven describes common industry practice only. It is not insurance or financial advice — for what your policy actually covers, read your policy schedule or talk to your insurer or a licensed adviser.

Your data

Do I need an account?

No — and there isn't one. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to be locked out of. Your vault lives on your iPhone.

How does iCloud sync work?

If you're signed in to iCloud, your vault mirrors to your own private iCloud database and appears on your other devices. The Settings screen tells you honestly which state you're in. If you're not signed in, everything still works — the app is fully usable offline.

I'm getting a new iPhone

Sign in to the same Apple Account on the new phone and install WarrantyHaven; your vault syncs down. If you don't use iCloud, restore from an encrypted iPhone backup, or export a CSV first as a fallback. Receipt images live in the app, so an export alone is not a complete backup — an iCloud or device backup is.

How do I export or delete everything?

Settings → Export all items (CSV). To delete everything on the device, delete the app. Your iCloud copy is managed in iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Purchase

What does Pro cost, and what does it unlock?

WarrantyHaven is free for your first 15 items. Pro is a one-time purchase — US$9.99, not a subscription — and removes the item limit. Export and claim reports are free for everyone, permanently, with or without Pro.

Will Pro ever become a subscription?

No. If a paid upgrade is ever offered in future, people who already bought Pro keep what they paid for. That promise is the reason this app exists.

I bought Pro but it's not showing

Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you purchased with. Purchases are family-shareable.

Refunds

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too: reportaproblem.apple.com. Email us as well if something went wrong — it usually means something needs fixing.

Requirements

iPhone running iOS 18 or later. iCloud sync needs an Apple Account signed in on the device; everything else works fully offline.
